Home Android Tips Samsung Galaxy S2: How to Sync Outlook Contacts and Calendars
Author:

Here are the easy steps you can use to sync Outlook contacts and Calendars on the Samsung Galaxy S2.

Microsoft Office Outlook is a very popular mail client software on the Windows PC. Most of the major corporation uses Outlook to manage emails, contacts calendars and etc.

In order for you to easily sync contacts and calendar you will need to use MyPhoneExplorer software. This software need to install both on the computer and your Galaxy S2.

This tutorial will assume that your mobile device and computer can connect to the same WiFi network.

1. First download and install MyPhoneExplorer on the PC. While installing MyPhoneExplorer it will also attempt to install RegClean Pro software. I hate this kind of software. When the screen popup asking for your confirmation, just click on Decline button. The installation should then continue on.

2. Next download and install MyPhoneExplorer on your SGS2 device from the Android Market.

3. Now enable Wifi on your phone. If you don't know how to enable Wife read this: Samsung Galaxy S II: How to Enable/Disable Wi-Fi.

4. Once MyPhoneExplorer is installed on the phone, open it up and you can connect to the WiFi network. You will have the options to connect via WiFi, Bluetooth and USB cable.

5. If you decide to connect using the WiFi option, you could set a password on the phone WiFi. Tap on the OK button to set the PIN. The client on the PC will need a pin to connect to your phone. You can also set the PIN via the Menu Settings. While the app is open tap on Menu > Settings > WiFi-PIN and enter the PIN.

6. Now go to the PC and open MyPhoneExplorer on the PC. Click on File > Connect. You could also simply press F1 on the keyboard.

7. If you previously set the PIN on the phone, then you will now need to enter in the same PIN. Put in the PIN and click on OK.

  • Calendar: Outlook 2010
  • Notes: Outlook 2010

  • Manish  - SAMSUNG GALAXY S2: HOW TO SYNC OUTLOOK CONTACTS AN
    Hi,

Thanks for the useful article but only on WiFi. I have an SGS2 which I want to sync with my office laptop's Outlook using USB.

Your tutorial shows syncing with WIFI, do you know how can I sync it using 3G since it seems like one of major issue with this phone is no sync without WiFi. I do not think you really need WiFi or 3G network to sync the outlook using USB with your phone, it is a straight connection.

    Appreciate your help.

I've had nothing but problems syncing my Samsung S2 with Outlook and Google contacts. Your well written post solved it. I spend most my time on my laptop using Outlook to send and receive email. I use Google's calendar link to sync my Outlook calendar to my phone automatically, but could not find a way to deal with contacts. This may not be pretty, but setting the app on the phone to my gmail account allows me to makes changes to contacts in gmail, on my phone or in Outlook and have them all in sync by the end of the day. Thank you!

  • Anne  - Duplicate Contacts
I don't show any duplicate contacts in Outlook or on my Gaxalie SII, but after synching some contacts will duplicate into Outlook, others don't appear to be duplicated on the phone but when I open the contact to send text/call, their phone numbers are listed sometimes more than twice. I was told that because this is an Android phone I would have to use Google mail and calendar (I don't want to!).

Say I have tow different contact lists in my outlook and then on my phone, when i Synch using this software, will they combine all contacts(and notes attached to those contacts) together or will one over write the other, if so will it be phone or computer contacts? Is this what the force outlook>phone or force phone>outlook options do?
  • admin
Rob - I can't recall whether you have the option to synch or merge. Please find the developer email address here fj.wechselberger@gmail.com and you can direct your question to them.
