This is a really simple way to hard reset the BlackBerry Bold smartphone. If your BlackBerry Bold is frozen or for some reason you need it to have it hard reset then here's how:

1. Pull out the battery from the device and wait for a while around 10 seconds should do.

2. Now put back the battery and it should be resetted. Replace the battery.

If you are lazy and don't want to remove the battery you can also try a soft reset first.

Here's how to do a soft reset.

Press alt+shift+del all the same time.

Another way is to do it via the menu

1. Select Options.

2. Select Security Options.

3. Choose General Settings.

4. Then tap on Menu key.

5. Select Wipe Handheld.

This will wipe out all the data on the device.

Like this Tip?

Wait for your device to reboot before you can start using it.

    I have tried rebooting my blackberry 9000, and nothing has appeared the screen just stays white even when I leave it for a long period of time. What should I do?

    just leave the battery out for atleast five days, i had the same problem and that fixed it,
    if it works for you please notify others having the same issue.

    :angry-red: The upgrade software is a very bad idea...recommend that you leave it alone...it takes forever to upload after restarting your phone, the phone its self is confusing now, should of never uploaded the new software.

    here's the problem..

    "The application FourSquare has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy."

    Everytime I click OK to remove the message, it comes straight back up and I can get no further i can't access my BB menu option..i also tried removing the battery but it doesn't work the error still keeps on appearing..please somebody help :( :( :( ..thanks

    Hi,
    I have a Blackberry bold 9780 and yesterday I got a white screen wich says: app error 603. The only choice I have is: "reset". But when I reset my device the white screen comes back.

    I've also tried to remove the battery but when I replace it, the white screen comes back. I've also tried to connect with my computer, but that doesn't work eighter. At last I've tried to reset my device with shift+alt+delete. He did the reset, but when the reset was done the white screen dissapeard again.

    Can somebody help me please?!

    I purchased a BB bold from someone, activated it, can use internet but can NOT set up an email account or use bbm. I tried to preform a wipe, when I went to that screen there is a box already check with a message in red saying you will not be able to use email service anymore. So I am assuming the lady I bought it from did that already and I can't uncheck that box. So my question is how can I restore my bb to factory settings? I can only hope that that will undo whaytever it is that she did because I am unable to use the best bb features. When I go to the bb site and try to load email from there I get an errror message so I think the software has been deleted.

    hey guys i just brought my bb and i want to set up my email on it, i brought it off someone and it looks like they have just givin me the phone out of his pocket , i can still access his f.b his email and everything, i just want to clear his stuff and enter in my own email and fb, plz help me
