Currently Google allow you to make free phone call to the US and Canada for free in 2011 from any country in the world, all you need is an internet connection. We all know how expensive it can be to make an international phone call, well now if you have got friend and family in the US or Canada then you can call them for free. I have tried it out the the line is pretty clear and we have talked for hours without a problem. All you need is an internet connection and a headset/microphone. You can get a cheap one like Cyber AcousticsStereo Headset/Microphone, Ambidextrous design AC-201 1. If you haven't got a Gmail account, then register for one. Once you have got an account login Gmail. 2. On the left hand side panel, click on Call Phone under the Chat section.
3. Then click on Accept when you see the popup Call phones from Gmail. If it ask you to install the software then do so.
4. Then on the Call popup windows start to put in the phone number you wish to dial. For example 408 99801600. You will also need to put in the state code, for example California is 408 then follow by the normal phone number.
Remember to plugin the headset/microset correctly for you to communicate. Enjoy the free call while it last
