When you plug the iPad 2 into the PC you may want to stop iPad 2 from automatic syncing because it could cause you to lose data. It is annoying that when you plugin the iPad 2 it automatic sync, sometimes you just want to work with the device on the PC. Here's how to turn it off:

To Turn Off Auto Sync only once:

1. Start iTunes.

2. Plugin in your device into the PC and then press and hold the Shift-Control for PC or Command-Options for MAC until you see iPad appears in the sidebar.

To stop auto sync permanently:

1. Open up iTunes.

2. Go to Preferences on Mac or Edit > Preferences on PC.

3. Then click on Devices.

4. Select "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically".

From now on everytime your device is plug into the PC it will not automatically sync.
