It is not uncommon that we lost our iPad because we have misplace it somewhere. Some people use the iPad to do work on it, if it is lost you maybe frustrated because you couldn't do anything while try to look for it. If you know that you can't afford to loose the iPad then it is better you set it up so that when you lost it you can find it. You will need to use Find My iPad software and register for a Mobile Me account.

To set up MobileMe Account:

1. Go to Setting.

2. Tap on "Mail, Contacts, Calendars".

3. Select Add Account.

4. Tap on Mobile Me.

5. Put in the desire Apple ID and password. Then tap on Create Free Apple ID.

6. Continue with any instructions to finish the registration.

7. Now you can confirm that Find My iPad is turned on.

With this service you have the ability to:

Find - find out where your iPad is located, with a display map on the PC.

Display a Message or Play a Sound - It will play a sound so you can recognised where is it, and it can display a message. For example you could display your address so that if someone finds it they can return it to you.

Remote Passcode Lock - you can lock the device remotely with a 4 digit PIN. This will stop other people from reading your private data.

Remote Wipe: You can completely delete all the content on the iPad, and have it reset back to original factory setting. This is a great feature if you use iPad for work, and it may contain some confidential information which you don't want anyone else go get a hand on this data.
