When you are travelling you need to reserve as much battery power as possible on the iPad. Once of the way to save power is to automatically lock the screen and put the device to sleep with the iPad Cover Lock. If you have got the iPad Cover Lock then here's how to enable the feature:

1. Press the Home button to go to the centre screen.

2. Tap on Settings.

3. Then tap on General.

4. Select iPad Cover Lock/Unlock, then tap to a On position.

To wake up the iPad simply open the cover. If you set a passcode for your device then you will have to enter it in.
