Learn how to add a contact on the iPhone 4 when that number also has an extension.

Often when you call up bank or large businesses, they use phone number with an extension. The phone extension number is number that goes directly to an individual, instead of going to a receptionist. For example a bank branch manager may have his own phone number which you can call him directly.

Here's how:

1. Press the Home key.

2. Now tap on Open the Contacts app.

3. Then tap on + icon.

4. Now while entering in the Phone number, when you want to add an extension, simply put in a Pause. Tap on , and tap on Pause.

5. After the Pause, put in the extension number.
