Home iPhone Tips iPhone 4: How to Merge Two Contacts Into One
Author:

When there are 2 contacts detail on your iPhone 4 that is refering to the same person, you could join them into 1 contact record.

Have you ever going through the phone book and sometimes realize that you have to contact details which is referring to the same person. On my phone sometimes I got a contact name Bob and Bob1. After reviewing the detail, I realize they are the same person, one record has a mobile number the other has a home number and an email address. Why not merge them into one record and prevent the phonebook becoming a mess. Here's how:

1. Open up the Contacts app from the Home screen.

2. The select a desire contact.

3. Next tap on Edit.

4. Next tap on iphone-plus-green Link Contact.

5. Then select a desire contact to link.

The way you mention is good, but it is not a real merge. I would like to know how to merge Bob and Bob1 so that only Bob remains at the end. Best regards, Yves
