Home Joomla Tips How to Get Yahoo Answer API key or application ID for JoomSef SiteMap
Author:

I have install JoomSef on my Joomla web app. In the admin section there is a feature to Ping Google, Ping Yahoo, Ping Bing and other services. However when I try to ping Yahoo I get an error "Yahoo Application ID not set".

Apparently you will have to acquire the Yahoo application ID first. Here's How:

1. Go to https://developer.apps.yahoo.com/wsregapp/

2. Populate the form with the require information and click Continue.

3. Now copy down the application id.

4. Go into JoomSef configuration -> SiteMap Tab -> under Ping Configuration enter in the application ID.

yahoo-application-id-joomsef

Now your JoomSef is setup for Ping Yahoo services.

I followed the steps by going to the yahoo development section and got an API key and inserted it into joomsef and saved but still saying it cant ping yahoo. Also shows up with http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2 | 0 - Thanks for the ping.
    http://rpc.pingomatic.com/ | 0 - Pings being forwarded to 11 services!
