While trying the mail function from the Joomla website an error message display on the screen:

Could not instantiate mail function.

The mail function was working previously and suddenly stop working.

Solution:

1. Login into the administration panel.

2. Then click on Site > Global Configuration menu.

3. Select Server tab.

4. From the Mail Settings section, select Sendmail from the Mailer drop down list.

5. Click on the Save button to save the changes.
