We will show you step by step how to change the lock screen time out on the Samsung Galaxy S II.

When you device is left idle for a period of time the screen will automatically locks itself. If you set the lock out time too short then it can be annoying as while you read a message the screen get lockouts. Conversely if you set the time too long it can consume too much power unnecessarily. You can modify this time according to your personal preference. Here's how:

1. Press The Home android-home-key button to go back to home screen

2. Next press on the Menu android-menu-key key.

3. Then tap on the Settings.

4. Then choose Display.

5. Now tap on Screen timeout.

6. Now select a desire time period. You have an option of 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 10 minutes and 30 minutes.

Now you screen should lock out after a set time period when it is idle.

Kinoshita - Just change the screen time out. Then your screen will idle longer before it would fades to black or go into sleep mode.
