How to enable Facebook on your vBulletin installation. To start you need to create new application on www.facebook.com. Create new application by following steps: 1. Browse http://www.facebook.com/developers. 2. Login with your username/password that you have registered with facebook website. 3. Next click Set Up New Application on the top-right of the browser. 4. Then enter an unique name. 5. Click Agree -> Create Application. 6. From the left menu, click Website. 7. Next, in the Site URL field, type the URL of the forum root for your vBulletin installation. This should be exactly the same as your Forum URL setting in the Admin CP, and in this case it needs to include the trailing slash. 8. Then click on Save to save the changes. 9. Take a note of the Application ID and Application Secret. We will need these info later.
After you have created a new application in Facebook. You need to enable Facebook Connect on your vBulletin installation. Here's how: 1. Go to your vBulletin site administration page, it normally has an URL lilke http://www.yoursite.com/admincp. 2. Login to the admincp with your username/password. 3. After loggin in, on the left column you will see the option Settings. 4. Next expand all in the option Settings by double click on the right icon. 5. Then click Options, the right window will be shown. 6. In the multiple selection box, you scroll the arrow key down, double click in Facebook Options. 7. In the Enable Facebook Platform, choose Yes 8. Enter “Application ID” and “Facebook Secret” from the Facebook Developer page 9. Finally click on Save. Did you like this tip?
