Home vBulletin vBulletin: How to turn your vBulletin On and Off

Learn how you could temporarily turn vBulletin forum on or off for a maintenance.

This is a useful feature whenever you perform a serious maintenance of a forum, database, fix bug or update the software to a newer version.

Note: only users of the administrator user group will be able to browse the site

Here is how to do it:

1. Use the administrator's username and password to access the admincp system (vBulletin Admin Control Panel).

2. After log in, on the left column you will see the option Settings.

3. Next expand all the options of Settings by double click on the right icon.

4. Then click Options, the right window will load.

5. In the multiple selection box, scroll down and double click Turn Your vBulletin On and Off.

6. In the Forum Active section

- Select Yes if you want your forum be turned On

- Select No if you want your forum be turned Off

7. On the  Reason For Turning Forum Off section, compose the message that you want show to the visitor when the site is down for maintenance.
