Problem: Soltuions: The first thing you can do is to perform a MD5 or SHA1 checksum on the DVD that you have with you. If you are downloading the file on the internet then there might be some missing files on the DVD. Checksum is a process allowing you to verify that the file you have downloaded is still in the original condition that has been release from Micrsoft without any tampering or file manipulation to the Windows 7 DVD. Because there are many version of Windows 7 you will need to google to get the MD5 or SHA1 key for your version of Windows 7. A typical MD5 or SHA1 key would look some like this: MD5: 773fc9cc60338c612af716a2a14f177d SHA1: e09fdbc1cb3a92cf6cc872040fdaf65553ab62a5 You can download File Checksum Integrity Verifier tool from Microsoft or Hashtab to perform a checksum on the ISO images that you have downloaded from the internet. If you have verified that the checksum matched and the ISO image have been downloaded completely without any missing file then the next thing to do is to check and make sure that you have no bad sectors on the hard disk drive (HDD). A corrupt disk sector can also cause the installation to stop so ensure you do a disc scan for bad sectors. Words of warning, do not try to install the operation system if the check sum are not identical. TIPS: If your ISO image has not been completely downloaded then you can execute a force check to ensure that it will download the missing files only instead of downloading the whole ISO file again.
