If you suddenly see the error "Your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file." pop up from the system tray, then you are running out of Virtual Memory. This normally happens when you have little physical momory (RAM) in your PC or it maybe that one of the application has a memory leak. Memory leak occur when a software application is poorly written that does not manage the memory well and cause the system to use up memory unneccessary. You can fix this problem by identify the applications that causes the problem, close the application down then re-open it if you want to continue using it. Indentify Problem Applications: 1. Press Control + Shift + Esc key to open Task Manager OR click Start -> Run -> taskmgr.exe. 2. Click on the Process tab to view a list of all the processes. 3. Click View, Select Columns.
4. Make sure the option Virtual Memory Size is checked and click OK to exit.
5. Now click on the VM Size column header so that the size is sorted in order. 6. Locate the application the uses the most Virtual Memory and try to close it. In this instance you can see Outlook uses a whooping 1,090,844 Kb.
7. Continue to close any application that you think it has a memory leak. 8. To close the desire process, click on the process from the list -> right click on the mouse and click Close Process.
